10 Best Tamasha Movie Quotes Every Traveler Might Relate To

Imtiaz Ali is a very well known film-maker known widely for his ability to show the reality of the society to the people in the form of entertainment. He speaks facts through his movies and all his movies leave an impact in the minds of the viewers. Tamasha is one such movie. Tamasha was released in the year 2015 and ever since then it has been ruling the hearts of many. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, Tamasha is a journey of Self-discovery.

Tamasha Movie was able to create an impact in the minds of the viewers and made a lot of its target audience relate to the protagonists. Ved and Tara are the protagonists of the movie Tamasha, played by Ranbir and Deepika respectively. The movie as a whole is about the self discovery of Ved who shows signs of bipolarity. However, it is a treat to the eyes of travelers too to watch Tamasha. In this blog we talk about some of the best Tamasha Movie quotes every traveler might relate to.

Tamasha Movie Quotes and Dialogues

Below listed are some of the most famous dialogue from Tamasha movie by Imtiaz Ali:

“Andar se kuch aur hi hain hum. Aur bahar se – majboor.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Andar se kuch aur hi hain hum. Aur bahar se – majboor.”

Nothing can portray the truth of life of someone stuck in the cycle of life as this dialogue by Ranbir Kapoor aka Ved does. Sometimes we are stuck in a place where we do not want to be and portray to live a life as normal as others, while all we want is to run away from the material world and set out on a journey. Every traveler who feels free today, had the ability to take that leap. In the movie Tamasha, Ved is one such person blessed with immense capabilities, but is stuck in the cycle.

This dialogue from the Tamasha Movie, is also one of my favourite Tamasha movie dialogue!

Translation

We, from within, are something else, and from outside, we stand helpless.

“What happens in Corsica, stays in Corsica”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“What happens in Corsica, stays in Corsica”

Context

Ranbir as Ved and Deepika Padukone as Tara, are delighted to find each other away from their native country, India. Ved tells Tara that here they can be anything they want, do anything they feel and not worry about it in the future, because there’s a very common saying that what happens in Corsica, stays in Corsica.

This dialogue, this dialogue right here forced a lot of travelers to add Corsica to their bucket list and go live there as anyone they want to. Corsica is known for the joy it brings in the heart of the travelers and nothing needs to go out of the boundaries of the place except happy memories. This dialogue from Tamasha really makes the importance and the significance of Corsica clear at the very beginning of the movie.

“Wo toh acting thi naa. Wo mai role play kar raha tha. Aur ye mai real mei hoon.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Wo toh acting thi naa. Wo mai role play kar raha tha. Aur ye mai real mei hoon.”

The way in which Ved tries to explain to Tara, what he is and has become throughout the building of the story, it just hits the right spot. Acting like we are in the place we belong kills us from within. It acts like a slow poison which eats us up. And for every traveler, it is thus very important to stay real.

Translation

“That was acting, right? I was role-playing that time. And this, this person that you see now, in front of you, this is me. I am this, in reality.” Ved says to Tara confronting her when asked about his behavioral changes.

“Ye tum nahi ho Ved. ye sab nakli hai.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Ye tum nahi ho Ved. ye sab nakli hai.”

Well Tara’s reaction is quite obvious. She has realized that the person she met in Corsica and the person she was talking to then, are both opposites. She has gotten herself into big trouble. Isn’t it the case with us? The Tara within us keeps telling us, this isn’t us, we don’t need to be here, we need to leave and follow our dreams.

How many times have you met that one person in your life who knows the real you and always believes you deserve the world?

Quite less. It’s you who knows you the most.

Translation

Tara tells Ved, “This isn’t you! This is all fake.”

“Kyuki sab bhaag rahe hain, isliye mai bhi bhaag raha hoon.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Kyuki sab bhaag rahe hain, isliye mai bhi bhaag raha hoon.”

Ved could not have sounded more relatable. Today, everyone is striving hard, running like lambs behind each other, but where? No one knows. People just keep running until death consumes them. This isn’t a life a traveler should lead. This is where every person felt that they should not be doing things they do not like or being in a place they do not belong. Tamasha is a total eye opener.

Translation

Because everyone is running, I am running too!

“Kise chahiye mann ka sona, aankh ke moti. Kise padi hai andar kya hai”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Kise chahiye mann ka sona, aankh ke moti. Kise padi hai andar kya hai”

This is another masterpiece dialogue reminding us of our increasing dependence on materialism that the outside world is filled with. No one actually cares about the inner self of an individual. What’s within stays within for the rest of the life, unless one tries to break through the cycle. This is a very important quality of a traveler to not value just what the eyes see, but also take care of what the soul feels.

Translation

Who needs the gold of mind and pearl of eyes? Who cares what’s within?

“Bachpan mujhse kehta hai mai bohot special hoon. Lekin usko toh maine kuchal diya.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Bachpan mujhse kehta hai mai bohot special hoon. Lekin usko toh maine kuchal diya.”

Ved recalls his childhood where he was lost into the world of stories and drew bridges between the fiction and the reality. He instantly starts to repent his thoughts because of what he has done to his inner child in the process of growing up. It’s a reminder to all of you out there reading this to never let that kid within you succumb to your fears. Let it free and let it breathe.

Translation

“My childhood keeps telling me that I am very special. But me! I have run over it.”  Ved recalls and repents.

“Ek din mujhe pata chala tha ki Santa Claus nai hota, bahut bura laga tha.”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Ek din mujhe pata chala tha ki Santa Claus nai hota, bahut bura laga tha.”

Such simple words and such a big impact. The moment of realization as we step into adulthood that not all stories we came across as children, were true. This in no sense means that we cannot create our own fairy tale. It is in our hands to write our future. Trust, belief and hard work are just the few ingredients you require to do what would make you different from others.

Translation

One day, I realized that Santa Claus doesn’t exist. I felt really bad.

“Darta hai? Darr lagta hai? Apni kahani mujhse puchta hai, kaayar tu kisse darta hai?”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Darta hai? Darr lagta hai? Apni kahani mujhse puchta hai, kaayar tu kisse darta hai?”

Ved needed this scolding in the movie as he was entirely dependent on one single person for his happiness. He needed the confrontation with the truth. We as humans search for perfection and in this journey, our definition of it keeps changing from time to time. We are scared of confronting the truth so we run away and create a safe spot around us. Well that is not the way of a traveler. A traveler searches for truth and chases it.

Translation

Are you scared? Why do you ask what’s missing in you from me? Coward! Whom do you fear?

“Pasand nahi aayi ending? Toh badal do!”

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Dialogues, Tamasha Movie Quotes, Best Tamasha Movie Dialogues

“Pasand nahi aayi ending? Toh badal do!”

The movie ends with this, but leaves a never ending impact on the viewer. So what if we did not like the ending, we have the right to change it. After all it is our story. It is in our hands to choose how it ends. Remember, no matter what happens, make memories of all sorts throughout this journey of yours.

Translation

You didn’t like the ending, did you? Change it!

Tamasha Movie Dialogues: The Lines that Resonate

Tamasha,” directed by Imtiaz Ali, is a movie that beautifully captures the struggles of identity and the pressures of societal expectations. The film is peppered with some of the most memorable dialogues that have deeply resonated with audiences. The lead characters, Ved (played by Ranbir Kapoor) and Tara (played by Deepika Padukone), share several heart-touching moments, and their exchanges are filled with raw emotion, making these dialogues unforgettable. Whether it’s Ved’s internal conflict or Tara’s sincere love, the words they share reflect a depth that’s rare in cinema today.

One of the most famous dialogues from “Tamasha” is when Ved, in a moment of self-realization, says, Bachpan se hi na, mujhe lagta tha ki yeh jo life hai… apni life… yeh koi aur hi chala raha hai. This line captures Ved’s feeling of being trapped in a life that doesn’t feel like his own, a sentiment many can relate to. Another powerful dialogue is Tara’s confrontation with Ved when she says, Mujhe tumse yeh umeed nahi thi,” expressing her disappointment in his decision to suppress his true self. These lines have not only become iconic but also form the emotional core of the film.

The movie’s ending is particularly moving, with Ved finally embracing his true self. The dialogue, Reality majboori hai, par sapne zaroori hai,” perfectly encapsulates the film’s message. It’s a reminder that while reality might be harsh, it’s our dreams that keep us alive. These words, spoken in the context of Ved’s journey, leave a lasting impact, making “Tamasha” more than just a film—it’s an experience that challenges us to reflect on our own lives.

Fans of “Tamasha” often turn to these dialogues as a source of inspiration. The movie’s script is rich with quotes that capture the essence of human emotions, making it a favorite for those who enjoy deep, meaningful cinema. Whether you’re looking for heartfelt love dialogues in Hindi or thought-provoking quotes, “Tamasha” offers it all. It’s no wonder that the film has inspired countless memes, status updates, and even filmy captions for Instagram, as its dialogues continue to resonate with people long after the credits roll.

Tamasha Movie Story

Written and Directed by one of the most well known Directors of the Indian Cinema, Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha is a treat to the eyes of the viewer. We find Ranbir Kapoor in the movie as the protagonist Ved, and Deepika Padukone as Tara. This is not just any Romantic movie, the movie deals with social issues, anxiety, adulting and relationships with a whole different perspective. Tamasha movie story has moved a lot of people from within.

The movie shows Ved’s journey of self discovery and how Tara plays an important role in his journey. Ved is just another guy who has gotten himself stuck into the cycle of life, a life of a common man, while all he wished for was a fairy tale. He is so well lost in his world of stories that he forgets the difference between the fiction and the reality, until he meets Tara.

Watch how Ved and Tara together build a home of hopes from the ruin of dreams. Watch Tamasha today to witness Tamasha movie story as a viewer not a reader.

Why Must Travelers Watch Tamasha?

Travelers must watch Tamasha because of the perspective it throws upon the life of a person who wants to break away from the cycle. Tamasha is a must watch for all those individual travelers who feel like they are lost and stuck at a place where they do not belong. Imtiaz Ali’s film Tamasha is a work of art and precision, wherein the character of the protagonists Ved and Tara are minutely created with every feeling that disturbs a young adult in today’s world.

Travelers have a lot to take away from this movie. Tamasha movie’s setting in the beginning is in Corsica, a widely known place among the travel enthusiasts. Also the journey of the character of Ved played by Ranbir Kapoor is in itself a testimony to a lot of young adults out there looking for their perfect chance to spread their wings and fly away to distant lands.

What does Tamasha teach us?

Tamasha, on a personal level, has taught me a lot. Ali’s vision reached out to me in a proper manner and I, as an individual, was completely able to relate with the character of Ved. Well of the many things that the movie has taught me, I have learnt that it’s never too late to do anything in life. It is our life afterall and we are the sole owner of our dreams.

And no matter who the person is, you can not give anyone the right to break the container where you’ve kept your dreams, not even you. Tamasha teaches us to live freely and not be trapped in a cage that the outer world has created for us with its boundaries and limitations.

Where To Watch Tamasha Movie?

Tamasha Movie is available to watch on Netflix. You can purchase the subscription and watch the beautiful story of Ved and Tara from the comfort of your room. This is a must watch for people who need a change in their life. Tamasha is one of my personal favorite movies which has inspired me to travel the world and beyond.
