Ranbir as Ved and Deepika Padukone as Tara, are delighted to find each other away from their native country, India. Ved tells Tara that here they can be anything they want, do anything they feel and not worry about it in the future, because there’s a very common saying that what happens in Corsica, stays in Corsica.
This dialogue, this dialogue right here forced a lot of travelers to add Corsica to their bucket list and go live there as anyone they want to. Corsica is known for the joy it brings in the heart of the travelers and nothing needs to go out of the boundaries of the place except happy memories. This dialogue from Tamasha really makes the importance and the significance of Corsica clear at the very beginning of the movie.

Acting like we are in the place we belong kills us from within. It acts like a slow poison which eats us up. And for every traveler, it is thus very important to stay real.

“That was acting, right? I was role-playing that time. And this, this person that you see now, in front of you, this is me. I am this, in reality.” Ved says to Tara confronting her when asked about his behavioral changes.

Well Tara’s reaction is quite obvious. She has realized that the person she met in Corsica and the person she was talking to then, are both opposites. She has gotten herself into big trouble. Isn’t it the case with us? The Tara within us keeps telling us, this isn’t us, we don’t need to be here, we need to leave and follow our dreams.
How many times have you met that one person in your life who knows the real you and always believes you deserve the world?
Quite less. It’s you who knows you the most.

Ved could not have sounded more relatable. Today, everyone is striving hard, running like lambs behind each other, but where? No one knows. People just keep running until death consumes them. This isn’t a life a traveler should lead. This is where every person felt that they should not be doing things they do not like or being in a place they do not belong. Tamasha is a total eye opener.

Ved needed this scolding in the movie as he was entirely dependent on one single person for his happiness. He needed the confrontation with the truth. We as humans search for perfection and in this journey, our definition of it keeps changing from time to time. We are scared of confronting the truth so we run away and create a safe spot around us. Well that is not the way of a traveler. A traveler searches for truth and chases it.
