• From Gangtok, take a shared taxi or private cab to Lachung. The distance is around 125 km and the drive takes about 6-7 hours.
• The route from Gangtok to Lachung goes via Mangan and Chungthang. You’ll be driving on the scenic Gangtok-Mangan Road and Mangan-Chungthang Road.
• Once you reach Lachung, you can either hire a local taxi or drive yourself to Bhim Nala Falls, located 13 km away.
• From Lachung, take the Chungthang-Lachung Road towards Khedum village. The falls will be on your left side after crossing Khedum.
• There is a designated parking area near the falls where you can park your vehicle and walk a short distance to the viewpoint.

The drive from Lachung to Bhim Nala Falls is an experience in itself, with stunning views of the valley, river and mountains. You’ll also come across several small villages and waterfalls along the way.

The best time to visit Bhim Nala Falls is from March to June and from September to November. During these months, the weather is pleasant and the waterfall is at its majestic best.

Monsoons, from July to September, can be tricky as the area receives heavy rainfall and landslides are common, making the roads slippery and dangerous. However, if you don’t mind the rain, the waterfall looks even more spectacular during this time due to the increased water flow.

Winters, from December to February, are extremely cold with temperatures dipping below zero degrees Celsius. The waterfall may freeze partially during peak winter, creating a unique sight. However, the cold weather and occasional snowfall can make the visit challenging.

Bhim Nala Falls is open to visitors throughout the day, from sunrise to sunset. There is no specific timing as such, and you can visit the falls at your convenience.

There is a small tea stall and a viewpoint near the parking area of the waterfalls. The tea stall serves hot tea, coffee and snacks like Maggi and biscuits. It’s a good place to grab a quick bite and enjoy the views.

The viewpoint offers a stunning panoramic view of the waterfall and the surrounding valley. It has a few benches where you can sit and soak in the natural beauty. There are no other facilities like restrooms or shops near the waterfall, so plan accordingly.
