- Take a shared taxi or private cab from Gangtok to Pelling. The distance is around 135 km and the drive takes 5-6 hours.
- The route from Gangtok to Pelling goes via Ravangla and Legship. You’ll be driving on the Gangtok-Ravangla Road, Ravangla-Legship Road and Pelling-Legship Road.
- Once you reach Pelling, take the Pelling-Yuksom Road towards Rimbi. Kanchenjunga Falls is located about 28 km from Pelling on this route.
- After driving for around an hour, you’ll spot a small signboard for Kanchenjunga Falls on the left side of the road. There is parking space available near the falls.
- From the parking lot, a flight of about 50 steps leads down to the viewing area of the waterfall. Be careful while descending as the steps can be slippery.
The road journey from Gangtok to Kanchenjunga Falls is an experience in itself. You’ll be treated to some stunning views of the Himalayas, green valleys, quaint villages and winding mountain roads. There are a few beautiful waterfalls and streams along the way as well.
